Free February Wills with Cavendish Cancer Care
This February we will be having a ‘Make a Will’ Month on behalf of Cavendish Cancer Care, a local, independent charity, providing support to around 1600 families, affected by cancer each year around South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Who are Cavendish Cancer Care?
Cavendish Cancer Care were established in 1991 and is a place for people to talk to trained therapists, in confidence when they may not necessarily wish to share their thoughts with friends or family and at a time when they need it most.
Frequently asked questions about our ‘Make a Will’ Month:
Q: How does it work?
A: We will write a standard Will for you in exchange for a voluntary donation of £95 for a single Will or £150 for a double Will to Cavendish Cancer Care.
Q: How do I pay the donation?
A: We accept cheques which we can forward on to Cavendish and they have an online donation system which you can do at home or we can do at your appointment. As this is a donation it does not attract VAT.
Q: What is included in the Will package?
A: Our standard Will contains;
- Your personal details
- Your chosen Executors & Trustees
- Your chosen Beneficiaries e.g wife/husband then children/grandchildren etc.
- Your choice of dispatch e.g cremation/burial/other
- Appointing guardians for your children
- Simple bequests
- A gift to Cavendish Cancer Care (and any other chosen charities) should you choose to do so.
Should you require a more complex Will/s then any additional work will be subject to a surcharge which is payable to Buchanan & Co.
As a gesture from our firm, we will provide you with a free Estate Planning Assessment worth £100.00 + vat.
As part of the package, we advise that your Will/s need to be registered with Certainty the Will registration scheme for a fee of £36 for a single Will and £48 for a double Will; as an additional gesture from our firm, if your Will is registered with Certainty, we will store your original Will free of charge, for the life of your Will with us.
As a further gesture, on the completion of your matter, we will also provide you with a booklet which you can complete and store with your copy Will/s at home, which will leave all your estate details for your Executors to help them wind up your estate.
