Care Home Boss Jailed

Care Home owner David Barton has been jailed following him trying to defraud residents of Barton Park Nursing Home out of £4.1 million by persuading them to make him a beneficiary in their Will and isolated them from their families.

He targeted residents for almost 20 years Liverpool Crown Court heard. Two of victims bought luxury cars from him, worth £260,000 and another bought stables with a large plot of land, only to be registered jointly with Barton, despite him not paying anything towards the sale.

He was jailed for 21 years and disqualified as a company directory for 15 years.
