Use a ‘high street’ Conveyancer
The Times’ Jonathan Ames considers whether online house buying has a future following the Law Society’s decision to pull the plug on Veyo, an e-conveyancing system that was officially launched less than six months ago.It has been suggested that Veyo did little to help simplify the labyrinthine process of house buying in England and Wales. “There is definitely a place in the market for a system that links together the various elements of the conveyancing process,” says Tom Allfree, head of residential property at Wedlake Bell. “One that fully integrates the Land Registry and the banks. But Veyo wasn’t it. None of those elements was available in Veyo.”
