Mediation is used primarily to resolve disputes relating to children and financial matters.

Where mediation is successful a ‘Mediation Agreement’ is drawn up, however, this agreement is not a legally binding document but is a basis for putting in place what is known as a ‘Consent Order’. Once agreed and approved by the Court, a Consent Order is binding on both parties.
